Katy Perry talks about collaboration with Queen Rihanna on Radio 1 UK. They wants iconic collaboration!
“We’ve collaborated on a lot of things, but just not songs yet. It’s one of those things that’s got so much build up that we have to deliver. I want it to be like that Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin song Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves, not Beautiful Liar (Beyonce ft Shakira) ”
she said. “But I definitely want to do something that is so iconic. Rihanna’s kind of busy too. We’re both busy but we planted the seed two years ago. How disappointed would you be if that song came out and it’s no good? Sometimes you have to wait for greatness.”
The ‘Talk That Talk’ singer says she is still planning to record a song with the ‘Teenage Dream’ star sometime soon.
Katy Perry and Rihanna at the Grammy Awards
Rihanna has promised fans her long-awaited duet with Katy Perry is still on the cards and will be coming out “in a while”.
The ‘You Da One’ singer confirmed the two friends are still planning to team up for a collaboration, after planning to work together for several years.
“We have been working on this for years,” Rihanna told Access Hollywood this week. “We still are trying to make a song together, Katy Perry and I.
“The song will probably come out in a while,” she teased. “I won’t say it’s happening right now. But it’s gonna happen.”
The ‘We Found Love’ star described ‘California Gurls’ singer Katy as one of her favourite people in the music industry, and sai the two hang out together as much as their busy work schedules will allow.
She added: “Whenever we’re in the same city we try to do something, whether it’s seeing each other for five minutes for a hug or whether it’s partying all night.”
Rihanna is expected to premiere the music video for her Drake collaboration ‘Take Care’ later this month after unveiling several promo shots from the video shoot earlier this week.
