Rihanna, A.K.A. the fiercest bitch in pop today, has confirmed that The Runners-produced “Cheers (Drink to That)” will be the sixth single to be lifted from her four-point-something million-selling album Loud.“Cheers” is an interesting mix of pop-rock and R&B, and samples Avril Lavigne’s “I’m With You”. It definitely has a lot of radio potential, especially internationally, so I’m stoked to see it get the single treatment.
But is anybody else kind of surprised Loud is getting another single, especially since Rihanna has already confirmed an album re-release? “Man Down” and “California King Bed” fizzled on the Hot 100, but the latter did do well internationally, so that may have been enough motivation to try another single.
